Assignment:
To redevelop the member magazine and make it more dynamic, engaging and easier to navigate in order to encourage member involvement and highlight member benefits.
Background:
Founded in 1923, CSMA (Civil Service Motoring Association) has become the UK’s largest private home and motoring and leisure association. CSMA is a non-profit organisation, which is owned and run by its members. Any profit the company does make is invested back to benefit members.
O&G have previously worked alongside CSMA to produce AGM brochures, annual reports and accounts and the old magazine ‘Motoring and Leisure’ which had one of the largest subscriptions in the UK, a great base to launch the new magazine from.
Insight:
The association desired to present a more modern image and better communication of member benefits. Thorough research was undertaken of the lifestyle magazine sector and design lay-outs were developed in keeping with CSMA’s communication objective.
Creative development:
The new magazine is designed to inform members of club activities, services and products through a selection of interesting and relevant articles.
Throughout the project the key focus was to keep the new design in line with CSMA’s new brand values: trusted, exclusive, friendly, inspiring and valued.
The new magazine ‘CSMA Club’ achieves this through clear navigation, commissioned photography, bold typography, added space for features, a brighter colour pallet and dynamic layouts.
Timing:
Launching the magazine, including all the design, layout and repro took 8 weeks.
Results:
The new look magazine received a very warm reception and the O&G team delighted the client with their professional approach working to challenging deadlines.
