Captivating Cuba: Brochure re-design

Assignment:

To redesign Captivating Cuba’s brochure and move away from the conventional images and styling normally associated with tropical holidays and highlight the diversity of cultures available and the destinations within Cuba. The main theme throughout the brochure was – Discover your own Cuba.

Background:

Captivating Cuba are an independent specialist dealing in Cuba holidays. Their UK based staff have all visited Cuba, and they even have offices in the beautiful Bacardi building in central Havana. With such a wealth of first hand experience of Cuba the team were keen to bring Cuba to life with an authentic and representative brochure.

Insight:

Captivating Cuba wanted to provide an exciting brochure containing detailed information on hotels, activities and what to see, giving customers the freedom to explore Cuba within their own itinerary. They wanted Cuba to stand out as a unique destination with a wealth of vibrant and thriving culture as well as historical significance.

Creative development:

The brochure design incorporated a wide range of styles representative of the different cultural experiences on the island. From the chic clam beaches of Varadero to the tropical lush valleys of Pinar del Rio. Beautiful full-page photographs of Cuba’s colourful residents made the brochure come alive. With a focus on activities such a salsa, scuba diving, carnivals and swimming, the brochure bought Cuba to life as an exciting and different holiday destination offered by people who know the country intimately.

The cover was designed with an uncoated finish resembling the feel of old cigar paper, a striking contrast to the fantastic wealth of colour on the inside spreads that completed the look.

Timing:

From concept to delivery this project took 7 weeks.
